Flash Research


I really like this picture, because the flash not only freezes the motion, but it lights up the subject enough that he is separated from the background.
(It's also interesting to read how the photographer makes his flash set up work...)

quote from photographer on how they lit the scene:
"I just used one remote 580ex ll at 1/2 to 1/1 power to compensate with the sun. I had to photograph at the peak of the afternoon to have maximum light from the sun."

I think the flash does help so that there aren't any unwanted and harsh shadows on her face, especially since it was shot when the sun is at its peak.
